My paintings begin in the quiet, often-forgotten stretches of North Texas—undeveloped land, creeks, rural roads, and fields where silence speaks and light lingers. These aren’t heroic vistas but cinematic, intimate spaces where something sacred feels near.
On the easel
I'm currently in the thick of expanding my portfolio, and a huge part of that includes large-scaled landscapes. After last summer’s commission, I have been deeply motivated (and equally encouraged by my mentor) to paint larger landscapes. So I'm sticking with Texas scenes, and those majestic bent oaks occupy a few of those larger surfaces.
