Not every artist offers commissions as part of their practice, but I find them to be a wonderful opportunity for collaboration. This process is rooted in ancient tradition, where a patron requests an artisan to create something unique and personal—a shared endeavor between the dreamer and the artist. This spirit of collaboration is at the heart of my approach to commissions: working together to bring dreams to life.
As an artist, I accept only commissions that align with my personal ethics and aesthetic sensibilities. I do not work outside the boundaries of my preferred medium, subject matter, or technique. These guidelines ensure that both the patron and I have a fulfilling and enriching experience. I reserve the right to decline any requests that do not align with my artistic practice. My goal is to deliver the highest-quality painting for your enjoyment.
The commission process is straightforward. If you have an idea, a favorite image, a dreamscape, a landscape, or a figurative concept you’d like me to paint in my style, please send me a proposal via email. Based on your proposal, I will determine whether I am the right fit for your project. Once your commission is accepted, we will discuss the parameters (budget, size, and timeline), and I will draft a contract. This contract must be reviewed and signed by both parties, with each retaining a copy.
Before any creative work begins, I require a non-refundable 50% deposit. This secures your painting’s place in my workflow and allows me to purchase materials and start working on references or concept sketches if necessary. Please note that if significant design changes are requested during the painting process, the original project will be considered abandoned. A new contract and deposit will then be required for the revised design.
Because I work in oils, which require time to cure before varnishing, the process will take a minimum of six months to complete. Once the painting is finished, the remaining 50% of the payment is due before or upon delivery. Delivery can be arranged in person if you are within 50 miles of me, or the painting can be shipped to you. Shipping costs will be added to the final payment. After that, the painting is all yours to enjoy!
I look forward to collaborating with you to bring your dreams to life.
